I would like to nominate Detective Sarah Standing. She has been an absolutely incredible person and she has worked with me for the past 2 years, with not only coming forward and finally pressing charges against my abuser, but she has also gone above and beyond by checking up on me and helping me get connected to the proper services for counselling and therapy. 

She has been right by my side through every step of the whole court process including trial. Her compassion and dedication to her work is absolutely amazing and she genuinely cares. I am so thankful to have had her help, support, and above all, to have finally had someone tell me that I did not deserve what happened and that it was not my fault. She made me believe in myself, and for that I am forever thankful.
