Constable Surjeet Gill of Windsor Police Service is an extremely community-oriented police officer. He strongly believes in community engagement, diversity, and inclusion. There has been a huge influx of international students not only in Windsor Essex but throughout Canada. Officer Gill has done several workshops and presentations for these students on different topics to educate them and build a trust factor between them and police, in comparison to the different perspectives that exist about police where they originate from.

I am currently serving as the President of the Student Athletic Association at St. Clair College in Windsor and I work with Cst. Gill closely in order to get students all the information they might need. He constantly attends cultural and sports events with these students. Officer Gill is greatly involved with several diverse communities in Windsor, from attending their cultural events to even reaching out to them for recruiting purposes. Officer Gill is multilingual and utilizes his skills to interact with the international students on daily basis. They all look up to Officer Gill as real Police hero, mentor & community role model.

I have known Officer Gill for almost 2 years and strongly nominate him for a Police Hero Award. He is a true role model.
