I nominate Rick Popowich for the 2018 Police Hero of the Year award. He - along with Chris Kampela, Matt Sombrutski, Dan Irwin, and Ryan Crupa - risked his life when the group of officers ran into a residence filled with carbon monoxide, removed people from the home, and saved their lives. As a result, all officers had to be tested for carbon monoxide poisoning because of their heroics.
