Joanna is a hero. She has been a hero her whole life. I had the honour of working with her in Corrections previous to policing. And I’d follow her anywhere or into any situation! She’s always had my back and everyone else she has worked with. She’s an amazing person, friend, and officer!

Const. Ford is an amazing asset not only to the police foundation but a huge one to our community. She is always going out of her way to do events or help out with local community issues. Some examples are at Christmas handing out turkeys to families, at Veterans Day at her home setting up the only memorable area I’ve ever seen displayed to show respect to all our fallen soldiers, and also going to the legion to hand out flowers to thank veterans. 

Shannon is a true hero and inspiration to all. She’s dedicated her life in a career in policing, protecting her community. She is a Native Liaison Officer, working with native youth. She also is a Traditional Dancer in our Pow Wows. All of this, to me, is a true hero and inspiration; a strong Ojibwe-kwe who never tires.

I am nominating Mylene Lacroix, a dispatcher with the Cornwall Police Service, as my Civilian Police Hero – Community Role Model. Mylene is a selfless individual whom consistently completes the kindest of deeds for her co-workers, her friends, her community both here locally, by such gestures as knitting warm clothing and donating to the less fortunate and abroad with mission trips to Uganda with her additional initiative called “Project Under Things”.

I would like to nominate Officer Kimberly Cadarette for all her contribution to the community. She is always doing so much for others on and off the job. Officer Cadarette is dedicated person who is constantly helping out in the community, she puts a lot of her spare time towards helping with many community events. 

I'd like to nominate my cousin and friend, Jen. Jen enriches the lives of those around her at home and especially at work. Her ongoing initiative, leadership and dedication are only a few of the reasons why I feel she exemplifies the virtue of a great officer and is so deserving of this award.
