2018 Nominees

Robbilyn Parker

I would like to nominate Officer Robbilyn Parker. A couple years ago, my daughter at age 15 was the victim of a sexual assault. Understandably our lives were torn apart. Officer Parker accompanied my daughter to the Peterborough hospital for the sexual assault kit and made her feel as comfortable as she could.

Keira Brooks (13)

This is the most well deserved nomination! From the bottom of my heart, our family absolutely LOVES this woman! We met Officer Brooks several years ago when our daughters fell victim to an attempted luring situation by a strange man. It was the worst day of our lives, but it was the day we met our hero.

Jeff McGregor

I am so happy to nominate Jeff McGregor for the Police Service Hero award. I met Jeff in August 2015 after being terribly victimized in some tragic events. Jeff is truly dedicated to his job of protecting people and I am honoured to have had his help the past few years.

For as long as I can remember Kevin always wanted to be a K9 officer. It's great seeing him and Jake train together, and reading the stories of them catching criminals and finding people - you know they both work hard at staying in top shape.

Amy Finn (12)

I was at Sobeys one morning before work and Officer Finn was in the line in front of me on her way to work in her uniform, and I noticed she had school snacks. I was there for school snacks as well, so in trying to show my daughter that police are friendly and you can have a conversation with them just like regular people, I asked 'oh you had to do the quick run out before school as well for your kids?' She said 'oh no, these aren't for my kids - I bring them to the school in case any kids forgot theirs.'
