Nicky is a caring and thoughtful member of her community and her Police Service. She has personally pursued education and understanding to promote and be part of a wellness unit at Brockville Police Services. On her own time, she also researched techniques and opportunities for the wellness unit. 

Almost 1 year ago, Nicky brought forth a well devised proposal to her chief and police board, the idea of a Peer Support dog, and it was met with interest and enthusiasm. Cooper joined the BPS in the summer of 2018 and has been helping staff and staff families in many ways over these few short months. Nicky, as primary handler, takes Cooper to situations as well as within the station. She continues to educate herself in mental health issues and concerns and is a proactive and dedicated officer.
