I would like to nominate Jeffery McLean for police hero of the year. Jeffery consistently goes above and beyond for his service and the citizens of Shelburne and beyond. Jeffery took the initiative to take over the Special Olympics Polar Plunge for Shelburne and the Torch Run, and should be recognized for this. Cst. McLean acts with the utmost integrity at all times whether on or off duty. 

Jeffery has organized four events thus far raising over $90,000 for Special Olympics since May of 2017. He and his team received the Rising Flame Award from the Special Olympics as well.

Cst. McLean contributes a tremendous amount of his spare time to his service. He ensures that children are well-educated and safe by teaching the DARE program. Jeffery is now the Zone Coordinator for the Torch Run and Special Olympics events from Guelph to Shelburne encompassing all police services in said area.

Jeffery has done much more than this that I am unaware of I am sure, and no one deserves to be recognized more than Cst. McLean. Thank you for taking the time to review my nomination.
