We would like to nominate Halton Regional Police Service Constable Heidi O'Neill for this award. We have known Heidi for four years and is she someone who means so much to my sister and myself. This is our third year nominating Heidi as we can’t imagine someone more deserving of this award. Heidi is a dedicated, motivational and loving person who ensures each person she meets feels supported, loved and valued. I am currently studying to be a paramedic and will be graduating this year, Heidi is the reason why I have chosen to be in this program. 

When we first met Heidi, my sister and I were at our lowest points. Being introduced to Heidi and having that conversation with her may have been seen as a small act but it meant the world to me. From that point on, I have strived to provide that same feeling to others. Knowing how much that conversation made me feel safe, valued, appreciated and deserving of whatever I want to pursue is a feeling I want to provide to others. An act so small meant so much, and I have Heidi to thank for that. Heidi deserves this award, and it would be amazing if she receives this while my sister and myself finish our programs, programs we are both in to support people the way she supported us. We love you Heidi, you will always be a winner of this award to us!!
