I am proud to nominate Constable Brian Mitchell of the York Regional Police as Police Hero of the year. It takes strength and courage to stand up for your rights in a time of diversity, and he demonstrates these qualities by contributing to the community. Brian has dedicated his life to lobbying on behalf of the LBGTQ community.
He has spent his spare time volunteering for the community and is currently the President on the Serving with Pride. Brian also lectures at the Ontario Police College to the new recruits and educates them on law enforcement and the LBGTQ community.
